Oceanographic Museum
An aquarium and museum of the sea in a grand building on the cliff edge, with a rooftop terrace. Open every day except 25 December and the Grand Prix weekend.
Used for most calls; the semi-floating breakwater is 352 m long.
Walk off the ship: the berth is at the foot of the Rock. Allow about 10–15 minutes uphill on foot to the Oceanographic Museum and the cathedral, about 10 minutes along the harbour to La Condamine, and 20–25 minutes round the harbour to the Casino. Public lifts and escalators link the levels, and a bus stop called Digue Croisières is by the berth (check CAM lines on the day). Taxis are available.
The gare maritime was built for passenger and baggage checks and the harbour front is flat; the Rock is steep, so use the public lifts where possible.
