Green market (Pazar)
Split's open-air market just outside the palace's east wall, with fruit, vegetables, dried figs and local produce. Busiest in the morning.
The pier also handles international ferries and holds the border crossing point.
Walk: about 10–15 minutes, flat, along the harbour front to the Riva and the palace's Bronze Gate. No shuttle is needed. Taxis wait near the ferry port; the main bus and train stations are on the way into town.
The harbour walk is level and paved; inside the palace there are some steps and uneven stone, but the Riva and Bronze Gate route is largely step-free.
