Stradun (Placa) and Pile Gate
The polished limestone main street running from Pile Gate to the clock tower, lined with old shopfronts and fountains at each end.
Just inside Pile Gate: a peaceful cloister and one of Europe's oldest working pharmacies, with a small museum of the monastery's treasures.

A full circuit of the medieval walls, about 2 km with plenty of steps, gives the best views over the terracotta roofs and the sea. Open every day; go early to avoid heat and crowds.
A small open-air market behind the main street selling fruit, dried figs, lavender and local liqueurs. Best in the morning.
